Fishing on the 4th

On the 4th the boys headed out with family to fish! Here are pictures of our niece Jennifer and nephew Cody (Jennifer's husband) with their catch. Jennifer has bass and Cody caught a huge Ling Cod...both very yummy eating!

Father's Day

We were able to spend father's day with our family in Soldotna. We spent a few days fishing on our BIL Dennis's set net site and were able to get lots of red salmon! Yeah, especially because Drew LOVES salmon and we use about 2 cans a week on his addiction to Salmon Patties and Salmon Wild Rice Soup (recipe available in the Alaska Dream Center cookbook- now on sale for $12- let me know if you want one- little sales pitch here for the fundraiser I have been helping out with for the Dream Center- a year long drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that our church here in Wasilla is involved with- the cookbook is outstanding with many of my families favorites included)

More babies

Sophia turned 2 May 25 and Ezra turned 7 months May 21- the day his cousin Kylie was born. We were able to see them in May and June...what a huge blessing! They are so much fun!

More Mother's Day 2009

Mother's Day 2009

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! Our family was here to visit and my MIL was able to come to church and lunch with us! We were spoiled with flowers and goodies.

Our niece came and spent the day with me Friday. We went shopping and for pedicures. She bought this cute outfit! She is due May 23rd...so only 2 more weeks! We can't wait to meet sweet Kylie Ann Villa~

Time to Exercise

We got an elliptical trainer...a little later than we had hoped...it is now nice outside so really we will use it again this coming winter, but Drew is sure enjoying it. Sometimes I awaken to the thump, thump, thump of him out in the living room "working out".

St. Patty's Day

This year Drew has been really "into" the holidays. His class made a leprechaun trap and he was so excited to come home to tell me that the leprechaun had busted out and left them licorice sticks. School here is so positive for Drew he is making leaps and bounds educationally. Here he is with his green egg to celebrate St. Patty's Day.

Valentine's Day 2009

Drew and Marissa on Valentine's Day. We headed down to Homer for the weekend and had a wonderful lunch at Froso's in Soldotna. They really are in love! And so are we!

Gunner Dunn

This is him! Our sweet black lab. We are so in love with our pup...well he is almost a year old. He is weighing in at 70 pounds. We never thought that we could have a big dog and love him this much, but we do!

Marissa is 13

Well we officially have a teen! She is a beautiful wonderful girl and we are so happy that we were chosen as her family. For her Birthday she wanted her bedroom done, so we painted it aqua and she got new bedding and a new captains bed. She had a new friend Nikki spend the night and they enjoyed being girls together. Happy Birthday Marissa!

Dave Ramsey says NO!

Okay, so a sudden lapse of judgement from our newly found following of WWDRD (what would Dave Ramsey do?) Yes we are on the BUDGET but we found a "deal" to good to be true...okay sending Pastor and Tom to Sportsman's Warehouse while the girls went to Target was not the best idea. Getting the call of "you wouldn't believe that they have the left handed gun I have been wanting". Well he isn't too spoiled yet, so this is a well worth it purchase...and he is SO Happy. I am sure those are words that Dave would surely frown upon...but God loves him and so do I!

Ice Fishing

We went out ice fishing at Little Beaver. Didn't catch anything, but it had actually warmed up from the -30 weather and we were getting desperate to get outside. We only last about an hour due to "fishing and not catching" but we all decided that we would try again, especially after we talked daddy into buying an ice auger.

Anniversary 2009

15 years of marriage! We went to a Third Day concert in Anchorage and had such a great time! We saw some friends and just enjoyed the music and being together!

Driveway Sledding

So we are new to the area and don't know where to go to sled...so for now our driveway will have to do. The kids hooked up Gunner and had him pull them down the driveway. We took a walk around our neighborhood and found a trail that will be fun for X-country skiing...maybe next year, everything has melted with the weather being 45 today! This picture was taken the 1st week in January.
